Spent the whole afternoon in Koroot.
I remember that I got a phone call from them last friday. It was during the class, so I couldn't answer. That must have been Ms.Lee who wanted to inform me about today's Chuseok party. I was not sure what time I exactly should be there so I just got around 12pm, and - I soon found out I was not that much early. Some volunteers already were working from 10am.
It has been only about one month I started visiting Koroot once a week - they say 'volunteer', a word that I'm rather reluctant to use. (But since there's no other proper expression, I still have to use this word.)
Since we have the Chuseok Holiday this week, I said I'll be there on Friday(today) instead of Thursday(like usual). I thought that it would be better to go somewhere else and work than to stay home doing nothing. I guess it'll sound strange, coz at Chuseok and Seollal, we are supposed to stay together with our family. It has been years we are not going to Daegu[대구] (where my grandparents and other relatives live) at traditional holidays. There's no hidden story like family troubles or so, just we find it too tired to be on the highway for hours.
Anyway, that's the reason why I never work at home, not doing cooking, preparing food and cleaning, but I go out when it comes to traditional holiday. (A few years ago I used to go to Ansan.)
Sometimes I feel sorry for my mother who's doing that work alone at home. But at least she doesn't have to suffer like many other 'daughter-in law's in Korea.
I know I should have been more "active" than just carrying dishes, washing, cleaning and serving. Would be nice to have talks with adoptees even though there may be some language barrier, don't you think so?
It's interesting to hear all the mixture of English, German and French at the same time. There are some people talking in French somewhere, and another group is talking in German somewhere else, and when the two get together it comes to English. (Of course, there's a certain number of English-native-speaker too.)
Too bad that I don't understand French. Otherwise I'd be able to understand almost everything what they are talking about, even though I would not speak a word German or French. (If it is the case of Flamish or Swiss-accent-German, I'll give up.)
Yeah, it takes time - time to get adjusted, to feel more comfortable.
Probably I'm always too much cautious whenever I have to get in touch with new people.
Anyway, I'm tired.
Good job, good day.
The weekend is left for my homeworks.

Really? But when we met for the first time at HUFS gate and the tea at Starbucks, you were so warm and friendly. So, Spicebear and I must have been good company, huh? Heh heh.
I had such a lovely time with you in Seoul...and remember Itaewon?
When you are in Singapore for any voluntary work or photographic trip, we MUST meet up. You, Spicebear and I. 약속?
Yes, you and Spicebear are good company:)
Thanks very much for your kindness. Sure, we must meet up when I visit Singapore.
I usually have no problem with people in small group, whom I'm supposed to meet up unless there's a serious problem in communication.
But if it is the case of a bigger group, I sometimes get lost.
Your volunter work is very meaningful. I wish I could be doing something like that. Keep up the good job. ^^
I notice some progress...
Yes, we must meet up when you visit singapore.
We will go to Singapore starbucks and Geylang (Singapore's Itaewon).
But don't come in March! I won't be around...ok?
You must post pictures of your work with koroot. Dying to know more.
To Equinox: Thanks, but actually (as I said) I always have a weird feeling to say that I'm a volunteer. (Probably that's because of the nuance of the Korean word.)
To sca: Progress? Hmmm... what progress?
To Spicebears: Sure^^
To Aini: Ms.Lee, the secretary of KOROOT has posted some pics on her blog. If you like you can check out her blog -> http://blog.naver.com/barona001/110009479550 (Would be good to improve your Korean too^^)
I remember that Dae Won, the secretary of G.O.A'L(http://goal.or.kr/new/) took a lot pics too. I'll check later if there are some pics from yesterday.
