Rice Terraces in Yuanyang

Compared to the major tourist destinations in Yunnan, Yuanyang was not a well-known tourist spot so far. I wouldn't have known this place if Liu, a Chinese traveller I met in Lhasa, told me about it. Luckily, I got a chance to go there with three Chinese friends.

Vehicles looking like Tuk-tuks in front of a public telephone station in Jianshui. I wonder how various vehicles they have in China. They have rickshaws in Lhasa, donkey carts in Turpan, and Tuk-tuks in Jianshui - something that is hard to see all in one country.

As there was no direct bus from Kunming to Yuanyang, we had to drop by Jianshui to transfer.

Rice Terraces under the sunshine. Unfortunately, the weather was not very clear in the morning.

Many visitors coming to Yuanyang are photographers who got attracted to its terraced fields.

Chen Hong, with minority girls.

Kele(可乐), with the boy in her arms.

(The boy doesn't look very happy, does he? ^^;)

Peng, concentrating on photographing.

For a moment, I thought you went to Chiangmai 'cos the ethnic costumes look quite similar to some of the tribes there.
And I love the rice terrace photo - lovely!

Hi Sandy~
Thanks for your compliment:)
Yes, some scenes in Yunnan look quite similiar to those in South-east Asia. I love the exoticness.
