Long time no update of my travelogue... Well, actually I can't say it's a travelogue, as I've just posted pictures from my trip. Ok, now I'm just in the mood to write something, so I'll start again from India.
(Visitors who are not familiar with my travelogue, plz check out my articles on my old blog.)
If you feel there's no place you want to go while travelling, that means almost the same as you've lost your passion in your life.
Coz... as a traveller, you must keep going, keep moving, from place to place, and never hesitate or look back... You should be eager to face any difficulties on your way, to meet new people, to adapt yourself in a totally different surrounding.
If you don't want, that means you've reached the end - the end of your trip.
Yes, I think I was exactly in that situation - tired, exhausted and frustrated.
It was the end of January, and I was supposed to go back home soon. I was running out of money too, BUT BUT BUT... the problem was - there was still no 'answer' to the question that has brought me to this long journey; I had no idea what to do after my return.
Actually I'd been depressed since I'd left Tibet in November the year before and headed to Nepal. More than the half of my whole journey had passed, but yet I couldn't find a definite answer that time.
I was tired of the uncertainty as a 'wanderer'.
I needed rest.
The first day of my arrival in Darjeeling was very gloomy. It was so cold, I was freezing, looking for a cheap hotel, but unfortunately the youth hostel I was looking for was closed, so I just followed the man who showed me the way to the hostel and got a room for 130rupees (not very cheap for backpackers, but anyway...). The room itself was not bad at all - I could have stayed more if I were not so depressed that time. But there were no guests except me, it was sooooo cold, and no hot water. Ok, I don't expect hot shower for 24 hours and heating in the room, but that was somewhat too much for me that time.
Luckily, I met another Korean traveller that evening and found out there are some cheaper hotels at the other side of the town. The following day I moved to another hotel.
The photo was taken from my room at the first day in Darjeeling. It was drizzling outside, and I could hardly see any view of the mountains. Who said that Darjeeling is famous for its pleasant climate(Ok, I admit it was not a good idea to go there in WINTER) and nice view of the Himalayas??? It was so misty during my stay in Darjeeling that I didn't get a clear view. The town was wrapped in mist and the atmosphere was always so gloomy. Maybe... it was not the right time to visit there.
